Note | WWII | Sam enlisted, Sergents Mess Camp; Camp Shilo, Manitoba; Retired 1954 and lived in Brandon, Manitoba the rest of his life. Died age 73. When Sam enlisted at Shilo Florence moved from Moosomin to Brandon as it was closer to Shilo; Also daughter Dorothy had moved to Brandon. |
Note | Sam was not even 2 yet when his father died.A year later his mother married George Hulse and another brother was born, Billy Hulse. a number of year later Sam's mother Emily died and Sam and his brotheres were now orphans. 1901 Census no sign of Herbert Walker but he would have been about 24.and in August 1901 he married. John now 19 was living at Aunt Mary Ann Birtles in Marston a Rock Salt Miner. Thomas now 16 was working on a cattle farm looking after the cows in Distrrict of Congleton at Kermincham. Sam 12 was an "Inmate" at Northwich Union Workhouse. Not able to find George or Billy Hulse, no sign of them. Where did they end up they would have been 10 and 8 years old. | |
